Im just putting the final touches of getting everything comfortable on my rack. Im adding another cymbal as soon as i get the money and i don't think i have the space to put it on. Right now where it would be is on the left side where my 20" ride and 16" crash are. The ride is up top like a crash cymbal would be and the 16" is hovering over my floor tom. The cymbal in hand im getting is one of the bigger either 18" or 20" Paiste RUDE Crash/Ride. I dont know if the rack can hold the weight of the ride i already have wich is pretty heavy and the RUDE. Im not sure on the positioning. As soon as i figure out how to get a picture of my kit maybe you guys can help me.

dunno if this is of any merit for your situation, but if you have a small cymbal (splash, really light crash) then you can buy an attachment to go on top of one of your existing stands to stack another cymbal on. maybe it could free up an empty spot for your new crash.

Do you have a hanging or standing floortom?
perhaps you could unload your rack a bit by buying a combined stand for your floortom/ride.

Tubular racks are sturdy, so if You use one of them (Tama, Gibraltar) Your ride should add no problems even if it's heavy. I am not so sure about Pearls square ICON rack though, I've seen a couple of bent ICON rack bars so I guess they don't put up to as much as the tube racks do. On my own (tubular) rack I have a 20" Zildjian Ride, a 14" RIMS mounted tom and two crashes (14" and 16") on the same 40" pipe. No matter how hard I play, I cannot possibly move them out of position (I use lock rings, wouldn't leave home without them!) and the rack bar/rack joints shows no sign of wear or displacement.

I tested my rack, before I mounted my drums on them, by positioning the rack pipe in their approximate postions and then I sat on the horizontal bars for a minute or two. If they support my own weight (90... Hrm, I mean 82 kilos) then they surely put up with 15 kilo's of cymbals, hardware and toms I figured. And I have had no problems with it.

Are You left handed or are You playing open-handed? Considering putting the ride on the left side, I mean.
