Me being lazy just bought new heads today, replacing the factory heads. I've had the kit for two years now and it's taken me this long. My problem is when i was putting on the first head it seemed like the screws that fasten the head in were to short. I continued with no problem until it turned out i couldn't screw in three of them. I tried every method i could to fix this. Then i got that sound. The sound of wood cracking. I immediantly stoped and looked ofr a flash light t see inside and look for cracks. After waiting 45 mins. for a flashlight i ran downstairs and saw cracks forming. Not big ones but nevertheless cracks. Now im stuck with new heads and hardware i guess is too short. What should i do?

By the way the heads are Pinstripes if that makes any difference.

don't tighten them all the way at first, put in all the screws with hand tension, then use the drum key.

once you get one in, put the lug directly across from it in, so the head is evenly on the drum. if you just go straight around, then it'll end up lopsided.

I got one on perfect. Sounds amazing. Then i tried the second. Got every single screw in but it sounds like im hitting paper. Im gonna have to try all over again. Took me four hours just to get all the screw to go in.
