I came across this forum a couple of days ago...being a yamaha fan (but owning a mapex) I came straight to this place and noticed a lot of guys *Biznich* about the YESS mounts.

Heres why I think the YESS are better if not just as good as other mounts.

Ok with the starcast, optimounts, Rims...blah blah blah the hardware is attached to the lugs/tensions bolts. Since the lugs are not attached to the nodal points of the shell, some vibrations are lost at these points, to add to that, the weight of the shell is indirectly(however isolated by rubber gaskets) on the so called "suspension" and hence are not truly suspended. Basically the suspension is indirectly connected to the shell at a non nodal point.

The whole deal about nodal points is that they dont vibrate whereas the parts around them do. So where there is no vibration you cant disrupt the vibration right...like you cant kill something that isnt there. Thats what yamaha does, so YESS is better if not as good as the other suspension systems.

I know it sort of lacks clarity but if anybody has any questions then shoot.
