i just bought a pearl master series kit, all birch toms and need some advice before replacing the stock heads. i have owned kits made by alot of manufacturers, but haven't owned a pearl kit in a long time and it was an old export to boot. didn't know much about drums in those days (my first kit), so i need advice on heads. i am pretty particular to remo emporers, but was wondering what others' opinios would be.

I've found that the majority of kits I've owned, albeit maple or birch, seem to shine with Remo Clear Pin stripes or Coated Ambassadors.

That is totally my own personal opinion but I haven't found a drum set yet that those heads sound bad on.

I personally, after days of experimentation, find that I like the coated Ambassadors better on my Pearl Masters...but mine are Maple.
