Personally, I've had the most luck with Zildjian. That isn't to say that I've found good stuff from other brands, but all my metal disks are either Zildjian or unidentified.

I am a fan of Zildjian rides and hihats, and Sabian crashes and splashes.

But then there's this ancient Paiste 2002 Flat Ride that I just love.

The bottom line is, play what sounds good, no matter what the brand (or price if you're rich).

Paiste 2002's are my personal favorites right now. If you'd have asked me a few years ago I was a die hard Zildjian guy.

I LOVE paiste hi-hats, but I like Sabian crashes and Zildjian Rides.

Sabian. Without doubt.

The AAX range is amazing. I use a 19" Metal Crash and an 18" AAXPLOSION crash (stoopid name, I know!) and they rock severely!.
Very responsive too. U dont have to pummell them to get them singing, but when u do, there is power to spare, believe me. My ears ring like hell!.

I've also use an 18" AA Rock crash from time to time, but I find it too heavy. U have to REALLY lay in to it to get it to open up. Anything less than that, and it sounds a bit clunky. One to avoid IMO.

Having said that, AA rock hats and AA Rock Ride are a superb match for the AAX crashes. If u play hard, then these are the cymbals u want.....

SABIAN....SABIAN......SABIAN.....SABIAN.....SABIAN.....SABIAN !!!!!!!!!

I Must agree with I beat 4 skins about the Sabian crashes. I play an 18" AA crahs and i love it to death. When I play shows and other drummers play with my cymbals they are always commenting on the quality of my AA and AAX cymbals. I have said once before and will say agian thoough. I do not think any ride compares to the Zildjian Custom A Ping Ride. I swear by this ride and will use it until I die. It has a beautiful, crisp ring that can be effective in any kind of musical style. The bell has a heavy sound, but not overpowering. Sabian's for crashes, splashes and china's, but Zildjian Custom A Ping Ride is the way to go!!!
