They are a step up from B8's, but like Tyler said, they are still an intermediate cymbal.

I personally wouldn't upgrade from B8 to XS20's. Id save the extra 100 bucks and buy a nice AA or AAX or save a bit more and get an HH or HHX.

If you upgrade to the XS20's, you'll probably find yourself wanting to upgrade again shortly down the road.

omg im not the biggest fan of the hhx's but jeeze the splashes they have have the most amazing sound, and even some of their crashes have the nice cresendo sound to it if thts wat you like to do in your music
im atill prob. more of a aa metal-x and a custom studio/dark crashes but those are some of the coolest sounding cymbals ive ever heard

I think that the XS20 cymbals are great, much better than B8s. I even play my XS20 crash with my HHX ride.

I also thin the XS20 line is vastly superior to B8's. For one thing the use B20 bronze on these cymbals not B8 so they're using the same materials on XS20's as the higher end lines, I believe the cymbals are mostly machined and not "Developed" as much as Sabians Higher end lines. Thats what really makes it a good intermediate line. I recenlt purchased a XS20 10" splash and I love it. I also got it by mistake for $29 bucks instead of $79 But overall I think these are decent cymbals. Hey I still use a B8 crash my wife bought me Just didn't want to sound like I was anti- B8
