Anyone ever used these? What do you think of them?

Nope. I wonder how similar they are to the Zildjian Jazz stick (which is my favorite stick).

It looks to me like the Zildjian Jazz model has a heavier neck and shorter taper. Also, the Zildjian model has an oval tip, while the VF has a tear drop. The sticks seem totally different, yet they are both called "jazz" models. Honestly, the Zildjian model looks like the basic rock drumsticks from other companies that I've used. Makes you wonder if some of these companies actually know what the heck they're talking about. I was just intrigued by the design of the VFs and wondered if anyone had used them. I might get a pair or two just to try them out.

I got some of the VF American Jazz sticks and tried them out. They have exceptional rebound and a very light, quick feel. They aren't so good for heavy playing, but they work very well indeed for their intended purpose. Excellent sticks for jazz or any kind of light playing. Great for playing in churches, for example. Give them a try if you're looking for a light playing, very quick pair of sticks.

They are ok but try to get a Vater in a similar size. IMO Vater blow away every other stick manufacturer ESPECIALLY zildjian who I think make terrible sticks. Pro mark isnt bad either. I used these sticks for a few gigs then got a set of Vater sweet rides which were so much better but quite different. I cant find sweet rides any more though so I use Manhatten which are similar but have a different balance and larger head.

Hmm, I'll have to try these out. Currently my stick of choice is the VF American Sound 8D, but it's starting to feel too neck-heavy to me, and I've been wanting but not looking for a lighter, quicker stick.

Check out Regal Tips jazz stick, I love it for jazz and light stuff. Longest lasting pair of sticks I've ever had too.

Definitely pick up a pair of these, David. Like you, I was playing American Sounds (both 5A and 8D) almost exclusively, but also like you, the rebound started feeling kind of dead to me (neck-heavy, as you put it). The American Jazz sticks (AJ2 model) immediately felt great on the practice pad, which transferred nicely to my kit, as well. Like I said, they aren't for heavy playing, but for fast, light playing they excel. Also, the acorn tip won't dent heads as easily as the round tips on the American Sounds. The AJ sticks give a really nice, light but articulate cymbal sound, too. I have a feeling you'll like them, David.

I think they are pretty good, a friend of mine use the same kind and if you ask him, you will only hear raves of praise for these sticks!
