C&C... no where near the overpricing that OCDP insists on although they use keller shells and their finishes are almost always less than perfect.
People use OCDP drums because they see their favourite artists using them, trust me you can put 4 grand into a decently sized C&C kit (as well as many other brands) and get a sound that totally blows out any OCDP kit.
Not to bash them or anything but they're the brand name in drums, you pay a lot for only a name. _________________ It's not what drums you play, it's how you play them. |

your wrong guest, it does not completely depend on tuning. especially for snares. there are factors like the number of plaies in the drum, the number of plies in the head, vented drum or not vented drum, the numberof snares, the metal the snares are made out of, whether the hoops are 2.3 mm, diecast, or some of the other options. There are many factors that go into a high quality snare drum, not just tuning _________________ http://www.myspace.com/druminmo88 |

I also have a C&C 7x14 10ply maple snare. the drums sounds amazing, I've played w/ bands that use ocdp and although their drums do sound nice c&c definetly gives a warmer fuller sound. Plus i can't stand vented snares, it's a waste of money in my opinion, sure you get a huge crack out of it but that's most it. Put that drum in a studio and record with it and then tell me how much you love vented snares. My snare isn't vented and it's just as loud as an sjc, ocdp snare and mine sounds better b/c it has a better overtone. _________________ www.leahstargazing.com

if these companies buy the shells from keller, the drums are virtually the same. maybe a little difference due to hardware quality, heads, tuning, but they all sound the same imo. ive heard ocdp and companies such as spaun, i couldnt tell any sound difference, cosmetic difference yes. _________________ Endorser of Saluda Cymbals since 2006! |
