I'm thinking of buying new mic's. I'm not that rich so I'm thinking of buying a set of mics (yes, I know that many of you told me not to buy sets, but I can't afford mic's one by one. Even though they are better)
So I'm very confident that Audix makes REALLY good mike's, and therefore I'm thinking of buying Audix Fusion series (the 6 pack). Is this smart?
The other mic set I was thinking about was the superlux...
I'm sorry if I repeat myself many times in threads, but I must use my money right - I can't possible risk buying the wrong equipment! _________________ Born by the drums, live by the drums, die by the drums...

were you looking at the superlux 4 pack?
if so, then go with the audix... either way, you still may have to buy more mics separately. the audix fusion pack includes a kick/floor tom mic, 3 tom/snare mics, and 2 overheads... that means that if you want each drum mic'ed individually, you wont have enough for even a standard 5 piece drumset. you could still get away with putting one mic on the snare, and then position the other 2 in between all of the toms and try to pick them all up. if you wanna do em all separately, then i say the best bet would be to put the kick/floor mic on the floor tom and invest in a good quality bass drum mic. _________________

Audix Fusion 6 is the best. I have been using them for the past 2 years. Affordable great sounding, road worthy, I would recomend them to anyone.

i hated the audix fusion set. i couldnt get a good sound out of my drums at all. but it was live and live sound is allot difrent than recording. id say in your case get a nice pair of overheads and a kick mic. id say like the rode nt5's and an audix d6 its more money but i think you will be SO much happier. but if you dont have the money id buy the fusion from a place like *Fartknocker*.com where you can return it no quetions asked so if you don ike it you can return it. _________________ Black on black satian oil dw |
