I have an eliminator double pedal, and i have to say that it rules! Very smooth and fast. Lots of adjustments so you can get it to move just the way you like it.
Good value for money as well, compared to the DW pedals, which are very nice, but very over priced in my opinion.
If you can't get an Eliminator, get an Iron Cobra. Thats another nice pedal which is generally the same sort of price as the Pearl. |

Yeah I noticed.... But what's best of the two pedals. I'm going to buy one of them, and I've heard a looooot of nice talkin' about the Cobra, so I don't know witch one to choose :/ Is the cobra a metal pedal or what? I play Rock/Funk/Pop/Hard-Rock, so I play many styles, but I don't know... *Comfused* Is the Cobra very hard and stuff? I just wonder.... Does the pedal sound wierd in Jazz/Funk for instance? _________________ Born by the drums, live by the drums, die by the drums...

There is no such thing as a "hard rock" or "funk" pedal, and there is definitely no difference in the way they sound. A pedal is a pedal. End of story. But some are better than others in terms of how smooth they are, or how well they are made. Stuff like that.
Best thing to do is forget about what you see advertised in magazines etc, as being "the cool pedal to have", or "Mr Big Shot drummer uses this pedal, so it must good !!" Screw all that krap! Get down to a drum store and play a couple of pedals and see what feels good to you. |

I second that! I will add that having various types of beaters on a pedal can vary your sound, but the pedal itself doesn't matter as long as it feels good to you. If you want a lot of attack and punch with less bottom end, go for a wood or plastic beater. If you want a softer attack with more bottom end and decay, go for a felt beater (and some felt beaters are harder than others). It's mostly just personal preference. Try every pedal you can get your hands on! Who knows, you might fall in love with the feel of a Gibraltar or Ludwig pedal. Don't let anyone tell you what pedal feels best to You. Only you can know that. |

Thanx for the tips! All I want of the Pedal is a good pedal for me and quality! I broke my last pedal, that was a peace pedal (totaly like the standard pearl). I allmost broke the beater, and i totaly destroyed it, so I had to buy new screw's. For now it works, but I must get a good pedal.
I'm going to the store tomorrow.... Gonna check out the Eliminator, The Corbra, Janus Ergo Pedal and some more.... The Cobra is favourite for now, but only I can tell what's the best _________________ Born by the drums, live by the drums, die by the drums...

| I personally would advise against the Eliminator. I have an Eliminator double, and it does not even compare against a Tama or DW. The more parts you have, the more parts you have to lose, I think. As well, I had a number of fun experiances with a defective pedal they put out. Ultimately, if I could re-live my pedal buying experiance, I would have dropped the extra $40 and bought myself an Iron Cobra. |

| Another option is the dw5000(double chain drive) pedal. It's very versatile. I've had mine for a couple years and it's doing great! It costs about $25 dollars more than the iron cobra. But if you're set on iron cobra or eliminator, I'd go with the cobra. |

Try the DW9000s!
I have an Eliminator and recently on a gig the *Holy Censor, Batman* thing broke on me right in the middle of a song. Upon inspecting the problem...there is a small cast piece that attaches the chain to the footboard and even though everything else looks solid, this key piece looks very thin...it busted and the chain feel to the floor and the pedal was unusable. Luckily it was a double pedal...the band took a short break and I swapped the chain to the primary pedal and was able to finish the gig. |

| You could also try an AXIS pedal. I just got for the first time. It rocks IMO! I have heard they are very comprable to the DW 9000's. I have only played the 9000's very briefly. I love my Axis Longboard. |

| Congrats on your longboard pedal. I'd love to have one of those. A double, actually. |
