Hey shout out to you old pros. I'm looking for an American made drumset, that will be in the 1000 dollar range for just shells. I'm looking for more of an intermediate (high) level set. I would also prefer a birch set but maple is satisfactory, the main part is new, 6 or 7 peice and resonant mounts I would like 5 toms (8, 10, 12, 14, 16) and one or two 22" basses. Have any good suggestions? I'll put new heads on and all that but I need a set that has decnt tom mounts and is made out of real hardwood. Thanks _________________ Viperdj |

| Google Donoho Drums. Made with Keller Shells (maple) but done very well and within your budget. The guy is in Nashville, Tennessee. That's pretty darn American! |

Totally go with Conaway. Dave will build you those drums for a more than reasonable price with the option of either wood. I've heard nothing but good things.
NOTE: I am Canadian, but that doesn't mean I'm not knowledgeable _________________ It's not what drums you play, it's how you play them. |

You could also go Ludwig for Classic American. _________________ "One day I feel I'm on top of the world

| phattie drums out of Tennesee are sweet. I love my snare from them and i am hoping to get a new set soon from them. THey're the best made custom drums for the price, but there is usally a 12+ week waiting list before they would even build your drums |

I was going to suggest Gretsch but I dont think either of them makes a kit within his price range. Except for mabey the Catinila Birch but I dont know if he considers that high Intermediate. _________________ "It is better to keep your mouth shut and appear a fool than instead to open it and remove all doubt"

| You wanted an American kit? Ironically, the Gretsch catalina stuff is made overseas... too bad. |
