I noticed while checking out this section that many of these threads originated a looong time ago and many never went anywhere. Peoples questions got little or no response.
I am wondering if the world percussion craze has petered out? For a while it seemed that everyone thought they were a "drummer". You couldn't go to any event and NOT find a drum circle complete with females doing the hippie chick dance.
Are most forumites strictly kit drummers or do you play ethnic percussion instruments as well? _________________ F**k it. Who wants pie? - Dennis Miller |

Well, I play percussion far more than I do a kit (heh, and in the drum circles too often enough). I think part of it for me is just that I don't scroll down here often enough, and the other part, yes, I think many people are very content being kit drummers alone. _________________ So with that title, do I Godwin every thread now?

Pretty much. I play some side percussion (namely Udu and Doumbek, and some Didjirido (sp)) but I can't seem to get a lasting conversation down here. Heck, I've tried to get conversations on concert percussion and mallet percussion to no avail. _________________ "One day I feel I'm on top of the world

I would have loved to help some of these folks out with their questions but I'm pretty new to the forum and their posts were a year or two old so I figured their was no point. _________________ F**k it. Who wants pie? - Dennis Miller |

don't worry...more will come. Maybe start some of your own informational threads....you might get some responses. _________________ "One day I feel I'm on top of the world

Hello.
I do not know the reason why people did not post. There are dedicated percussion forums. This may be the reason. Congaplace is very popular. _________________ "Rotate your tyres" |
