It seems that the drum (set) dog is eating us alive!!!!
When I started to frequent this forum, I was so happy to see that drum setters and hand percussionists were living together.
Now; everytime I log on, I get more desperate. No more hand percussionists in the house!
It is true that some other excellent forum are only dedicated to percussions, but why is this section dead here? The last post was about 3 months ago!
Come on guys; share your ideas, experiences and knowledge about the complex world of percussions.
I hope to read you very soon.

This place was always pretty dead, but then when the forum actually literally DIED for a month, that probably killed the few that came here. I have two percussion things...I think they're congas. Got em in Thailand for $50, with a stand. 6 and 7 inches on the head, and a few feet deep. One question I have is that does anyone play these with drumsticks? The attack is a bit too much for me when I do... _________________ then....perhaps I might eat them. |

Well, I personally do percussion more than kit stuff, but there just hasn't been anything here to attract me. _________________ So with that title, do I Godwin every thread now?

Yeah, anytime I've tried to get a discussion going here...I get no responses. Anyways, how's the website going BigB? I had checked it out a few months ago. It was looking quite nice. I hope you are able to expand upon it (into other cultures that is). You definitely have a great idea going though. _________________ "One day I feel I'm on top of the world

If you want, I'd say definitely plug the dog house too, as long as you don't continually spam it. _________________ then....perhaps I might eat them. |

just ckecking if the dog was still alive...
Hi styles, yes, plapata.com is coming along. I almost finished the text, transcriptions and ehtnical background of the west african section. I am now starting the latin section.
For the forum, you guys should check congaplace.com for english speakers and
percussions.org for french speakers
these two forums are focused more on percussions and are jamming.
see you there I hope

Im here where the rest of you at?
I play Meinl congas, I like gospel, and Latin Jazz, I also instruct an west african percussion youth group with djembe dundun marimba and all other great west african instruments.
I currently have a like new meinl 11' quinto for sale because I play more at the gig then home and dont have the need for it. It has less then a half hour play time on it. I posted in a new thread the details if anyone is interesed. |
