timbales question...please help me out...

All,

I'm only a former drummer, but my uncle recently gave me a set of Gon bops timbales which I am now preparing to sell. The thing is, I can't seem to find much information on the company. Can anyone help me out with a general idea of the quality level of Gon Bops? And if possible, where I might pick up a ballpark estimate of their worth? the latter is not so important, I just need to know if I have something that's probably quality, or just a bust. Thanks in advance.

Do you have any pictures. Gon Bops was bought by DW. The old Gon Bops is the first manufacturer to make tunable congas etc.. Before that the drums had tacked heads are were held over a source of heat to tighten them. I beleive the company origins were in the 50's. You may have some great timbales there. as far as value I can't say. Occasionally you can find them on e-bay. That might give you an idea. Good luck.
