|
|
| Ok I just got my pearl powershifter a couple days ago for $180 and it seems to be a good double pedal. The only problem I have is I've never played double bass be4 and I played single bass for about 3 years. I've been putting my entire foot on the pedal instead of just my toes. I saw a video of Jason Bittner(one of my fav. drummers) playing double bass and he just had his toes on the pedal. I also noticed it is alot easier for me to play with my entire foot on the pedal, but the only downside is that it is not as loud as when I just use my toes. I was also wondering what the heel toe technique is? Plz help. thnk you |

there are 3 styles as far as I know
heel up
heel down and
HEEL TOE
heel toe is complicated to explain but basically it evolves having your whole foot on the pedal and using your heel first and coming down on your toe on each foot. I think its the fastest way to go |

| i find heel down the fastest, heel up the most comfortable when playing slower, and heel tow when just adding in an extra note wher eit shouldn't be ona single kick. |

the problem I have (not that it's really related to this thread....) is getting my 2nd bd pedal and hi-hat to coexist in a friendly manor.
