Hi, what do you guys think is the best reasonably priced (ie dw 5000, pearl eliminator, iron cobra) pedal to use with the heel-toe method?
I guess the axis longboards is probably the best but they are way to expensive for me.

I would go with the Yamaha Flying Dragon, it's better than the Eliminators and IC's.

i have a gibraltar pedal and i can do the heel-toe extremely smoothly. i have heard that you can do the hell-toe only with certain pedals, but that seems like a lie

you can do heel toe with any pedal. it just takes pratice. In my view pedals like the giant step and dualist are like cheating

I love my flying dragons. If your looking them up on the yamaha website, they are the DFP9310, or here, even better, a link!

They cost the same as iron cobras, they were $300 when i got them. For an extra $30 you can replace the marshmellow beaters with iron cobra beaters, and boom! you have the ultimate Tamaha. Comes with a case, and an optional strap. VERY good pedals. EXTREMLY smooth, and VERY adjustable. You can pretty much ajust it in every way possible.

I don't think mine is a flying dragon, but holy cow it looks similar! I'll try to get a pic later.

I must be doing something wrong then...
I tried heel toe with my IC... and I cant get the pedal to move unless I jam my toes into the chain!...
I play in socks, so it's not a shoe issue... I only have size 11 feet...
and my spring is set very loose...( you can only see about 1/8 inch of the rod at the bottom of plastic nut... those of you with IC's know what i'm saying..)

The only way I can the pedal to hit is to let my whole foot drop on the board, not really the technique from videos i've seen

... my heel hitting the bottom won't budge it ( my heel is hitting the hinge..) and if I put my foot on the board to where I can move it with a heel strike, my toes are the hitting the chain...

It seems a longer footboard would be needed....

It might be because I have big feet but I can't do the heel to toe technique on my ICs either. The board just isn't big enough. It's a double pedal though so I don't see why I would need to do the toe to heel method anyways...
