Which beater has the most attack?

Plastic or wood?

Or am I totally out of the loop and its something else?

I'd say if you want a slap sound plastic, sheer volume wood.

I use a foam one as i love the classic BOOOOOOOM

Wooden beaters are much louder than plastic ones, I think. Becaucse they are heavier, more mass = more power!
