ok i'm ready to start recording drums at a decent quality.
i'm not really sure exactly how to do this though.
my goal is to record my drums through a set of mics into my computer and use sony acid pro to edit them. i can do that right?
first i'm gonna pick up a set of drum mics (about 4-5) for about 80-100 bucks. that is my limit on mics. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/CAD-Pro4-Drum-Mic-Pack?sku=271262
now this is where i get confused. can i get any mixer? will a cheap basic mixer like this one: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Nady-MM242-4Channel-Mini-Mixer?sku=630434
run four mics and then into my computer if i get the right cables? or is that mixer not made for what i'm doing. do i need a mixer with 4 mic inputs?
i am really confused on the mixing part. i just want to mic up my drums, some how put all of the sound together as one, and plug that into my computer. my limit is like 300 bucks so i don't want to go over that. i want the quality to be pretty good, no white noise or static crap.
if someone could help me out and tell me what mixer i need and the right cables (like 1/4'' and xlr ends, not sure what kind of cable-ends plug into the mics) that would be awesome. thanks.. |
