I fixed it for him.
Yes, I love the studio-x's. I was going to try the ECQs, but I like these. I always seem to go back to aquarian. |

It's pretty cool. It's quiet compared to others. But, it gives a nice piiinnnnggggg. It's made from a Zilco hat. It was very thin and cracked something like this ( ○ ). The prentices being the cracks. I just traced the lathe marks a little underneath the cracks and cut away with some tin snips. Sanded the edges and tada! I was really surprised on how it sounded. It's not perfectly round, but close enough. |

Wow, that looks really nice. I'm thinking of saving up and selling my kit for a 6 pc Mapex M, probably in plain black. How much did all of that cost, including hardware, cymbals, heads, etc? _________________

Well, when I bought it I already had my cymbals, hardware and pedals. The kit came with hardware too. The kit was around $1240.19 including tax. To rehead the whole thing but the snare was $208.80. So add those together and it would be around what you would pay for the drums and heads. Which isn't bad at all. Best kit for under $1500 IMO. I had to pay and extra $100 for the finish too. So if your just going with black you won't have to pay as much. As far as my cymbals, I couldn't tell you. I got a few of them used and don't remember what I paid for some of them. I figure the price is about the same if you look it up on MF or somewhere.
Hope that helps. Black is a good color too. I almost got that or the emerald green instead. So, I just got both in one. |

| Oh, I don't know if anyone can help me out. But, my ride that is pictured is a Zildjian K Custom ride. But, there is no serial and it's only hammered. No latheing at all. It's fairly heavy too, more like a rock ride than a jazz ride like I see today. Also, the "custom" is in block lettering. Just curious if anyone knows anything?... or had seen one before? |

I expect it's just a medium K custom ride, cos' they have unlathed undersides. The newer ones are slightly different, i think _________________
