I have had a beginner kit for ages and i now want to spend some real money on a wicked kit. Somone said that rather then buying a whole kit at once upgrade individually.
Get:
skins
pedals
hihat and ride
Snare
Toms
Bass Drum
and crashes whenever appriate.
Shall i go for this, or buy a whole kit together at once |

i'd get the stuff seperately, but get the toms and bass together as a shell pack.
you dont have to go by the order of that list, although i would start by getting new heads as they change the sound of your kit enormously |

its definitely worthwhile to buy piece by piece since you won't be waiting as long to get your drums while you save your pennies, but i wouldn't literally buy one component at a time. just but the necessary parts at first, i.e. a basic 5 piece shell pack, some hardware and a few cymbals and then add on more stuff as you see necessary. it helps to sort of have an overall vision of what you want your kit to look like when its all said and done, otherwise you might fall into the trap of just buying random stuff because you can and having a bunch of cluttered equipment that you don't really need or use. _________________
