I just returned from yet another adventure at G.C! I had been thinking about an intermediate level kit and was looking at what Pearl and Gretsch had to offer in the 700 dollar range. I had my mind set pretty much on the Pearl VSX 5pc fusion set-up. Heck, I even plunked down greenbacks to hold'em! Well.. today I set up the PdP X7 kit..Poplar shells not hybrid( I talked to a dw rep in the store) I threw a quick tune job on 'em and POW!
even with the el cheapo stock heads.,, this kit sounds GREAT! I pick em up tomorrow. I'll be using them for rehearsal with my worship band tomorrow! Can't wait! I got a screamin' deal on 'em $670 with G2's on all the toms OTD! Will try to post some pics.. Wink
