Have any of you guys everheard of Rogers...They are not what they used to be, yamaha bought the company and is now producing theie drum line......

i'm assuming you're referring to Rogers drums. not sure what you mean by "they aren't what they used to be." the Rogers drum line was discontinued i believe in the 80s, until some chain of music stores in Texas acquired the name and started making drums that they only sold in their shops. with Yamaha's reputation for building high quality instruments, i don't see how this can be anything but a major improvement for the brand.

I was just going by what the store owner told me that they were made in china and were cheaper made than before. I couldnt see why with Yamaha's name behind it..

I own a Big R Rogers set. The quality is outstanding, and i also belong to a rogers online forum. Yamahaa is making cheap knockoffs of rogers drums and they may never be the same again. I think they are bringing back the old style though soon..to where things are interchangeable. But they have a long way to go from there current sets ive seen to match the old rogers.
