Double pedal help

Ive been drumming for about 4-5 years now so im well experienced. Ive been getting into metal drumming now though and my pedals just wont do. I have those terrible pdp pedals were u get the double pdp for 100 dollars they suck. Now I cant decide between the Duallist double single pedal thing or get A2 double pedal Axis pedals. I would go with the Axis but there 600$ and I dont think i can get those for christmas but I could get the duallist for christmas no problem. THe only thing im worried about getting the duallist is that even though it can double pedal can it do it well??? Like can you go really fast with them like will I be able to play death metal with them or will I need to purchase good quality double pedals in order to be able to play death or speed metal.

Personally i'd just save up and get what you can. If it's not the best of the best, I wouldn't worry too much. The dualist wouldn't be your best bet, thats mainly for people who need their other leg to play other things, like tiggered toms or percussion, etc.

I also used to have the pdp doubles. They do suck. I just picked up the tama Iron Cobra doubles myself. They are sturdy, a ton smoother, and pretty adjustable. I got a pair for 320.00 so they don't kill your wallet either.

Axis is too expensive and no better than Tama or DW. Don't bother with Duallist. Google search 'heel toe tecnique drumming' you can learn doubles on each beater. Awsome but takes lots of practice.

If you can afford axis, get em Shocked

... but even tama ic's or dw 9000 would suffice, buts it's up to you. I would recommend learning the heel- toe technique as well, just as 'ellwood' said. This way you'll find it easy to play those 16ths parts on the bass drum Twisted Evil

Axis are some really good pedals, but i hear about them not being so sturdy. If i was gonna pay that much for some pedals id at least want to know that theyd hold up to a good thrashing. Its the same with DW 9000 and 5000, good feeling pedals, but break WAY too easily. I have recently been looking at pearl eliminator pedals, and i have to say they are amazing. Theres so many possible adjustments, you can really get it to feel however you want. Also, the switchable cams is an amazing idea, and gives you the feel of 4 pedals all for one. The iron cobras also seem like some very good pedals, they were just a little too heavy for me. If possible, id just go try out as many pedals as possible, because this is really something that differs from person to person.
