Hi i have an extra floor tom which is the same size as my main floor tom...i dont need it i know i should just tune it lower to just have another tom but i really dont need it and i would like to convert it on to a snare so have you guys ever done that? a friend of my told me that what u do is drill little holes in the shell and thats where u would put your trow off and ur Snare BUTT which are the things that support the Snares right? well if i was do that then i would have to get a bottom Snare hoop of the size and then a thinner bottom snare head? and so replace the top with a snare head? but would it sound like a snare? ot more like a really wet fat *Horse's Patoot* sound?

Ignore tyler....

Plenty have done this and it often sound awesome. The Floor tom legs are perfect, and you can get the same usual angles that you would with a snare stand.

Some shell modification is needed yes...

Superb project that has previously been done by a DD member.

Good luck!

All parties involved need to calm down and realize that there are things that matter far more than a random comment on the internet.

There's no need for the hostility here.

Well said. I think the original question has been answered by directing Tamadrummer to Pazuzu's old thread. Let it go now.

I`ve converted a floor tom to a snare, was the coolest, fattest wet sound I ever got from a snare, didn`t need to mic it either. Very Happy
