i've been wanting to buy a td-20. what i have in mind to bring the price down is to buy everything separate with some of the pads smaller. but it's more expensive. i must not be adding it up right.

is there a special pad meant just for the snare drum, or can any tom pad be plugged into the snare input and be used as a snare drum?
i would greatly appreciate a response since i dont live anywhere near a music store that is an authorized roland dealer. and i cant always rely on musician's friend's and american musical supply's customer service to know what they are talking about.

thanks in advance.

any pad will work. you'll just have a smaller surface area to strike.
