Here's a song my band Mystafine played at the Trade Roots Reggae Festival this past year:

Hey Guys,

It's been a while since I've been here, so I thought I'd share some home videos from the spring. Lately I haven't been doing all that much WFD.

These are improvised drumset variations of West African themes.

These are jazz based latin improvisations that would be used by jazz drummers who played with saxophonist Sonny Rollins.

This was an improvisation that happened when I didn't know the camera was on, but turned out decent.

Hope you like them.

Kind of hard to see with the whole youtube quality video, but your vocalist looks pretty hot Very Happy I liked your use of the bell/chime in the first video and the fact you played with your hands in the second.

Yeah, she's pretty cool, though she is currently dating a guy. If one were to ask me that should not be the case (long story, whole situation is not good), but that's neither here nor there. She's Pierce Pettis' daughter if you know of him.

As for the hands, that's my custom djembe. It's really cool sounding in person and equally fun to play.

Thanks, we are kind of varied in age. Grace is 20, I'm 23 (24 soon enough), the bassist is 50, and our other guitarist is 47.

How did you all hook up? You play well together so it seems like you've known each other a bit. Finding good people to play with is always a pretty personal thing. I wish some of my friends were more serious about playing together. It just feels so good to groove with other people, you can't get that with a 4 track and playing different instruments yourself.

I hope I can get a band going someday.

Well, Grace and I are friends and Steve (bassist) goes to our church. Our other guitarist is a craigslist find. We get along pretty well, and play pretty well as Steve and I have been playing for years, and Grace was raised in that environment.
