That is pretty monster. You should post pictures when you get a chance. So you have 2 16 inch floor toms... are they different depths?

so you should write your toms specs as this:

toms: 8" 10" 12" 13" - 14" 16" 18" (3 floors)

Eh, I think he's meaning they both have 16 inch width but one is 16" depth and the other 18" depth. It's so confusing that it can be written either way but when he says he has 2 16 inch floor toms.. I do believe that's what he's referring to.

Ask yourself, have you ever saw a 16" floor tom with 18" deep ? It would be too deep for nothing. It was like having a 20" diameter bass drum with 22" deep.

If it's right then it must be a custom kit in non-conventional specs.

They exist and some people just want an extra tom with more projection, like what having a 22" depth does to a 20" bass. But anywho, maybe the OP will clear it up... maybe they just made a typo and meant 18".

So if they're identical 16", one isn't 18" deep, right Confused

probably like this,
16x16
18x16

usually when you talk about sizes on a drum you say the second number, which in this case they are both 16, but the first is different, but still sound different

Last time I checked, identical meant the same. We can conclude from there that they are both the same diameter and depth as each other.

The Freaking Oxford English Dictionary wrote:
Identical /aɪ.ˈdɛn.(t)ə.kəl/

adjective

1) similar in every detail; exactly alike : four girls in identical green outfits | the passage on the second floor was identical to the one below.

ORIGIN: late 16th cent.: from medieval Latin identicus, from late Latin identitas.

I think deduction implies the answer.
