You can get packs of drum and cymbal silencers like this: http://www.andertons.co.uk/acatalog/info_VFMUTEPP3.html

But seriously, I'd say the drums are a lot louder than cymbals, I mean when I have to use the pads cause my parents complain, it's only the drums that I dampen, the cymbals are fine. Although that could be because they're good, and my drums aren't Very Happy

I have no idea if this will help you or not but. I have 4 rides on my kit 2 of them are zildjian custom A's both are 20" a ping ride and a projection ride. When I get rolling on then the wash and overtones become a little over powering for me. I tried several methods to tone this problem down. Nothing worked until this past weekend. I use dampening rings on my drums which work great for me But I wanted to try some moon gel because so many people speak so highly of it. I didn't really care for it on my drums but just for the hell of it I threw one on my ride. The results were amazing. It dampend the wash and overtones just enough without deading the cymbal but best of all it did not noticable dampen the sticking For me it was the perfect solution. give it a try a package costs like $7 bucks so it may be an inexpensive soultion to your porblem.
