does anyone know where i could send cymbals in to get them lathed down, or any places that are like local to most places, id like some bells and i have a few old cymbals

You can have the bell chopped off from the outer portion? If so, wouldn't that affect the sound of the bell, not having the surrounding metal to help resonate?

youve never seen it? theres a bunch of pics around the forum , it does effect it but i could really use some bells, and its easier then buying one, but i dont have 1,000 for a lathe

Send them to me. I work at a MFG and have access to everything including laser cutting. You want some scroll work with that? Twisted Evil

the cymbals are pretty crappy, i dont think thed be worth much, but one sounds like an ice bell, and the other ones just big
whats MFG? haha a scroll on a cymbal Smile that would be cool

I`d think any good machine shop would chuck it up and cut were you wanted it.

yah. it would probably be dirt cheap considering all they have to do is snip some metal off and then grind down the edges till they're not sharp.

I`ve had this done to elliminate a crack and make the cymbal smaller, they put it on a lathe and use a parting tool.
