Okay, I have been looking into a good beginner kit to buy for some time now, and I think I may have found something decent to start with..

A pulse pro drum set,
22" x 16" bass
12" x 10" and 13" x 11" toms
16" x 16" floor tom
5-1/2" x 14" snare

And Im going to buy a Paiste PST 3 cymbal set
16" Crash
20" Ride
14" Hi Hats

Also, I plan on replacing all the heads since I hear that they arent very good. I think im going to go with Remo heads, unless someone convinces me otherwise. Any input is greatly appreciated.

dude, id say go for some sonor kits, or gretch Catalina.

the sonor im getting is a semipro/pro drum kit and its only $1500

pulse drum are good, but if you wanna get the best bang for your buck either look at sonor kits, or gretch

Well, Im just starting to play, and am on a tight budget of sorts. What I put in the first post is about as much money as I can spend, which ends up being $525+shipping and price of heads.

if you're on that kind of budget, Pulse drums aren't a bad choice. they're cheap, and at least a reputable brand amongst bargain drum makers.

for $525, the kit you're getting is going to serve fine. Eventually you are probably going to outgrow the Pulse kit, but you'll only be out 525...

In the same price range, I would look more at a CB drumset. I think they're one of the best beginner drumsets available.

yea, if you dont want to go into the higer beginner sets(not a bad thing) then stay with CB or Pulse, because they are great for the price and set you up for your drumming carrer
