Hi Folks,

I'm Mike. I live in Chevy Chase Maryland outside of Washington DC. I'm 49 years old and I've been playing close to forty years. I'm in the middle of a messy divorce, and living with my new girl-friend Jackie. I suffered two strokes this past year, so my playing is not what it once was.

I currently own four kits:

1975 6 pc Slingerland in Blackrome finish.
(12", 13", 16", 18", COB snare, and 22" virgin bass.)

1981 5pc Gretsch "drop-G stop-sign badge" in Walnut lacquer finish.
(12", 13", 16", COB snare, and 22" bass.)

2006 6pc Gretsch Catalina Birch in Chestnut Fade lacquer finish.
(8", 10", 12", 14", matching birch snare, and 22" bass.) It's my "knock-around" kit.

2008 6pc DW Maple Collector's Series in Broken Glass finish.
(10", 12", 14", 16", matching snare, and 22" virgin bass.)
The floor toms and bass are VLT shells.

I currently own 45 cymbals.

Two full set-ups and then some of Zildjian "A"s.

A full set-up of Zildjian "K"s.

A full set-up of Paiste 2002s.

A full set-up of Paiste Signatures.

I used to be a serious drummer who sort of collected, now I'm a serious collector who sort of plays. (Strokes suck!)

Well, I appreciate the offer but selling is highly unlikely. In the early 80s I ran into money issues and sold my gear. It took me years to get nice stuff again and I haven't sold a single piece since. (Which explains how I accumulated so much.)

I'm actually figuring out what cymbals to add. (Constantinoples?!)

Once I get past ten posts I'll put up some pics.

Nice kits. I've only got the vintage and my next kit will be electronic.

I didn't catch the rule about waiting a week to post pictures. I'll throw some up as soon as I am able.

Great to have another Marylander present!!! Are you in a band that plays out around the Bmore area?

Cockeysville is part of my world. Hi neighbor.

No, I'm not playing in a band currently. I moved here for my day job a couple of years ago. Up until then I played in bands regularly for almost 30 years.

I had two strokes earlier this year and I'm trying to get my playing back up to speed.

How about you?

Hmmm.

I joined the site two weeks ago to see what you folks are about, get some new ideas, share some of mine, whatever.

I just don't see enough regulars on here everyday to move this place forward. It's a shame. Nice concept, nice layout, nice people, but there's not enough happening here for me to continue to check in every day.

I expected there to be more hard core, all about drumming, type people here, I don't get it.

That's why you're here!

Really though, we have our ups and downs. Right now I'm seeing it as a lull but possibly increasing in activity. Also I noticed that it's a down week in general in the intarnet forum world.
