| As my instructor told me many years ago "If you learn traditional, then playing match is no problem. The reverse isn't true, so I'm teaching you traditional." |

| I couldn't agree with that more. I first learned matched, then I was taught traditional grip correctly for the first time. I used only traditional grip for three or four months and really tried to get used to it. After than I noticed deffinate improvement in my matched grip playing. I think the more muscles you train and the more ways you get your fingers to go fast the better for both. But hey it's what ever floats your boat right? |

so true praxis
i initially learned matched grip w/ instructors when i was very young but never tried playing traditional until about 3 weeks ago.
i've been working so hard at it and finally it's starting to pay off. not only because it's fun to play with this grip - because my matched grip speed and especially left hand has improved 30%. ! |
