I have been using my Pearl powershifter double pedal split into 2 seperate pedals since I started playing a kit with 2 kick drums again. Yesterday I went out a got 2 DW 9000 single pedals. These pedals are a bit more expensive the the others, but they are well worth it. I paid $205.00 each for mine. The quality of these pedals is unmatched. I started using them right out of the box with no adjustments and I had an instant improvement with my double kick playing. The best way I can describe it is, using the Pearl pedals and others, was like driving and Chevy or a Ford, using the DW 9000's is like driving a Porsche or a Ferrari. These pedals are very smooth and it's almost effortless playing them. Once I do some adjusting and fine tuning I can't imagine how good they will feel. Another point, although I do not play out any more, I thought it was nice that the pedals come with thier own carring case and they also come with a nice little DW DVD. I say if your in the market for a new pedal spend the extra cash and get the 9000 series.
As I watched the DVD I thought to myself, these guys really care about the products they make. The care they take in selecting shells for each drum kit is impressive, and the craftsmanship is top notch. I have always said that I feel DW drums are way over priced, but after seeing how they are made I have had a change of opinion. Actually after seeing this DVD I think I'll have to get a set of DW's myself, why play anything else. |

You might have to change your handle if you do.
Congrats on the pedals, btw. Sounds like you got a good price on them, too. Well done. |

yeah, my beater kit that i use to play with my new band has a 9000 on it, I know whose kit it is, he used to have a 9000 double, but its just a single, i LOVE the action on those things, ever since I played one in HS i loved it.
I also love the power glides that Iron Cobra sells.. i think thats what there called, but their one single pedal I played was nice also. _________________ Mapex Mars 6 piece - Pert Paragon Cymbals |
