Double Kick Questions

Hey, I played a single Iron cobra kick for about 5 months and then decided I wanted to try out a double kick. I picked up a cheap dixion double that worked well for the price paid and practiced and learned on it. As i progressed in my double kick skills I came to see that the responce was to slow and the whole time I missed the smooth feel of my cobra. I just recentally got a double Iron Cobra with the power glide cams. I knew that upon buying them I'd have to almost re-learn to play because of how much better the pedal was. I've been going for about 3 months now constantally changing and tweeking my kick to try and get a good feel and I can't do it at all. I tried mimiciking the setup of my old kick and nothing. I can't play with the cobra as well as i could with the dixion.

Does anyone have some suggestions and or tips on how I can set my pedal? Anything that I could try to do to make me be able to play quick smooth double kick rolls as well as maintaining a feel to the single aspect of playing.
