Hi, I am a drummer who wants a electronic kit to practice on only. I have an accoustic kit for live gigs. After being self taught for teh last 10 years I want to get lessons and improve technique.
I would like some advice on which would be the best kit in terms of qualoty and value for money. I am considering buying a roland TD-3, TD-6 or yamaha DTXII or yamaha DTXTREME. I am most after a kit that will offer the best feel and sound pound for pound. I don;t mind paying a little bit more for the kit as long as it's worth the extra money. |

I have tried the Yamaha and the Roland TD8 kits and ended up buying the Roland TD8. So i did have to shell out alot of cash but it was worth it. The drums feel so real and sound great too. There are so many different built in drum effects, drum sizes, cymbals......... You can even change how tight the snare's are! Hope this helps. Buy the Roland!!!!!! |

Hi
I've got a DTXpress II. It's very good. Like you, I use it mainly for practising for which, it's great.
However.....I've tried the Roland gear and if I were going to gig this equipment, I'd use Roland. The mesh heads feel and respond great.
But for practise - the Yamaha is excellent - and cheaper!
