Hi
I recently bought a pacific kit that im VERY stoked with.
But i need to replace the standard heads with some decent ones but im not sure what to buy!
I was wondering how you determine what heads you need?
Ive got a birch kit and im playing punk.
Im looking for heads with good projection that are gonna bring out the best in the drums but be very strong aswell.
Can you guys reccomend something for me?
Thanks |

| I'd reccomend Remo Pinstripes...good volume, good durabilty, good tone. I'm sure there's other choices such as Aquirians though... |

If you're playing punk, then Evans G2's. _________________ Yamaha SCA

| Just to really confuse you, I'm going to recommend Aquarian Studio-Xs with power dot underneath. They're self-muffled. You just put them on and play them wide open. The power dot will provide plenty of durability. |

HAHA great thanx guys
3 different reccomendations, makes my job real easy!
Ive read good things about the aquarians but unfortunately i live in South Africa and our range of products aint as extensive as yours!!
I can get pretty much any remo and if i try REALLY hard i can track down some evans.
But the evans are alot more expensive than the remos and im wondering if theyre worth all the extra money??
A guy who i really trust at a local music shop here has reccomended remo emperors to me
What do u guys think of the coated emperors??
Thanks

I recently bought all new heads for my kit and this time I made a change. My drums are Birch. I was using Remo clear pinstripes on the tops of the toms and Aquarian Classic Clears on the bottoms. Now I am still using the Classic clears on the bottoms but I switched to Aquarian Performance ll heads on the tops. I'm getting a nice controlled sound and there's no need to do any muffeling. I had to do some with the pinstripes.
On the kick drums I stayed with Evans EQ3 heads and Evans reverse dot coated on the snare. |
