Yeah, I hadn't thought about that, with excess lubricant and such. I'll wipe 'em down first and see how that does me. I'm none too anxious to use sticky stuff on hardware, either, though, given that it has a tendancy to gum up over the years.
Thanks for the comments. I think D is definitely playing with the big boys sound-wise, but the thing is, price-wise, he's playing with the middle-of-the-road guys.
