I've been looking for a splash cymbal on eBay, and I found many Saluda splashes. Because of their low price, I was almost turned off. Then, I remembered someone on this board purchased one, and they liked it quite a lot. There are several types for sale: 8", 12" Power, 10" China, and many others. I have two questions.
1. What size/weight do you recommend? I am looking for a fairly high-pitched "cheee" kind of noise. Not too high, however.
and 2. Are these good quality cymbals (for the price)? |

Yo, that was me who bought the cymbal:) You can see pics, a sound file, and my story of the 8" Saluda Mist Cymbal I got. Also, stick with their Mist series, do not go to the SS or SH series, they are definitely not as high of quality as mist.
To answers your questions...
1. For a chee sound I think 8" is good or 10" - either work
2. Yes all hand hammered, B20 alloy(20% tin/made out of the same alloy as Zildjian K and paiste signatures)

Thanks for the pointer, but that link doesn't work.
Also, where would you buy Saluda cymbals? Besides an auction site, that is. The Mist series is dificult to find on eBay. |

Sorry, I put the sundescore in the wrong place
www.geocities.com/marchmadness_2003/saluda.html
You can contact James, the guy who answers all of your questions and takes your orders at ufsports@hotmail.com
Where you're actually buying it from when you call him is drumgearonline.com (not really the most impressive site)
But - when I ordered form there everything is fine, no mishandles, everything went great |

| I went to that site, but I didn't see any Saludas from the Mist series. Does this mean anything, or is it just poor site upkeep? |

Ya, their site is pretty atrocious, just email james at ufsports@hotmail.com and then he'll give you the number. The service is greater than the website by far. |
