My parents got me a double bass pedal for my birthday and it works pretty nice (its from pacific drums and accesories). The only problem I have with it is that it has two metal stumps, one sticking out on each side and they are about an inch long. Because of this I can't get the pedals very close to eachother and its driving me crazy! Does anybody else have the same problem and/or a solution for it?

I'm having a hard time visualizing where these two "stumps" are. Where are they on the pedals exactly? Could you take a picture of the setup, by any chance? That would certainly help.

My pedal is the one pictured at the very top (DP602C). If you look ath the pedal that actually connects to the bass drum it also has the same two stumps but the springs connect to them.

I suppose you mean you cant get the slave close to the hi-hat pedal right? If so then you could use a hacksaw or dremel tool or whatever and cut off the "stump" on the left side of the slave.

Dont cut them both off though, should you ever want to convert the double pedal into 2 singles (that is possible right?) you will need at least one of the "stumps" for the spring to connect to.
