Hey everybody. I have a Yamaha Stage Custom Advantage kit which I'm impressed with. My snare has gotten worse though. The throw off switch will not allow me to strain the snares enough to turn it on. I have to loosen it greatly in order for it to turn on, then it sounds horrible. I have never dropped the snare. I am wondering if this is due to me turning it off every time I am done playing. I do this to preserve the snares, but I think it may have bent the mechanism. By the way, it's a Yamaha Wood Snare with the original heads.

Hey guys. I took my snare to the place I bought it. It turns out I had to loosen the strainer all the way until it almost fell off, then tighten the snares on the bottom. Before I had just tried this with regular tension. Just posting in case anyone has the same problem.

New heads wouldn't hurt either.
