| I typically like to adhear to the old refrain of "Play it before you buy it", but I'm always willing to make acceptions. $50 isn't too bad for a splash and an 18" Wuhan, I think, and from what I've heard, Saludas are pretty spiffy hunks of metal. As well, I've played the Wuhan chinas before and they certainly beat out some of the upper end chinas, I think. Personally, though, I might go for a 16" before I get an 18", but that's just me. I'm sure you'll probably like them if you choose to buy them! |

I have a Wuhan14" and love it. Who could do a china cymbal better than a Chinese company? One thing to watch for with these is that the "bell" is extremely deep and you'll need extra felts to protect the cymbal. You can't get away with the typical top felt/bottom felt. You'll probably need four felts.
I have no experience with Saluda except for the sample that someone posted here. It sounded exactly like my Sabian B8Pro splash. |

So here's the thing, I can get a Wuhan china for around $25 at www.musiciansfriend.com just about any size 12, 14, 16, 18, etc. So should I go there? I can always pick up a splash later. I've ordered tons of stuff off musiciansfriend and trust them. What would you suggest for a nice splash? I really like the custom a series zildian but can't afford it at this time. Anything cheaper??
Thanks,
Joey |

| It depends on what you want out of your china. Generally, the larger the cymbal the more decay you'll get from it. |

18" Wuhan Lion China- $59.98
20" Wuhan Lion China- $79.98
22" Wuhan Lion China- $89.98
24" Wuhan Lion China- $99.98
27" Wuhan Lion China- $149.98 |

Decay has to do with how long it rings. Basically, do you want a cymbal that delivers, and then cuts out not long after, or that delivers and delivers and delivers after one hit? Or something in between. |

ya gdawson that was me with the sample
lildrumdude - the Saluda is from the SS series. That's one of the earliers ones, so I wouldn't go with that. It definitely is not as high quality as the Mist line. Go with a Mist splash - they sound great! |

I'll probably go with a 14-16in. china. I like a quick decay in my cymbals. Is there a difference between a lion china and a normal china?
Thanks,
