Okay, so I just got a Yamaha DTX set so that I can 1) practice w/o disturbing others 2) practice with all those cool kits & accompaniments and 3) add loops and effects to my acoustic playing (a la Akira Jimbo).

Does anyone know if pursuit #3 can be achieved with this module??

Thanks, Ping, but the DTX and DTXpress are two different mods. Anyone else?

Speculations are nice, but not very helpful. I could really use some insight.

Thanks.

I'm using mine to add effects to my playing, and two different kinds of loops. Do you have the video that came with the original dtx? It outlines a bunch of different things that the dtx can do, like starting/stopping loops from the pads, starting patterns that are programmed into the sequencer, etc. My dtx has a bunch of loops programmed in, plus I can program chords with the internal keyboard sounds. I use this function to set off horn stabs when we play funk music. I've also set up a reverse snare that leads into my regular snare sound. I've got one pad that starts the reverse sound, and I have the second pad programmed to play the real snare sound and shut off the reverse sound. What styles were you thinking of playing? Do you have some ideas about how you would to use loops and effects?
