these guys -->http://www.trickdrums.com make the nicest snare throw-off i've ever seen, the GS007. i checked one out at geetar center. i'm amazed. i'm enthralled. my next snare will have one. check it out. it's smooth and sexxy.
and no, i am not affiliated with this company in any way shape or form. _________________ we are the musicians. we are the dreamers of dreams. |

| Yeah, I've seen those. They do look really nice, but do they function as well as Nickel Drumworks throw-offs? Could be... could be. I haven't operated one, yet. |

Looks interesting, but there's no way to tell how good it is until you actually use it.
Nickel Drumworks and Ayotte both make excellent throw-offs. On the simple side, I really like the Noble & Cooley one as well, just because it is so incredibly smooth and silent (and loose). Only bad thing is how long of a throw it has. _________________ "Hipness is transient. You've got to change in order to be continually hip." --Vinnie Colaiuta |

To me it seems like many throw-offs would do well to get a little more drop out of the mechanism. With many of them, you still get some snare wire rattle if you lay into the drum with the snares off. Kind of annoying. |

| I've seen a few Tama snares like Portnoy's signature that have 2 "stuck" positions on them. I always thought this could be a great idea if it worked but has anyone tryed them? |

Im not sure if this is what you meant but, a snare throw off is the thing you use on your snare to turn your snare on and off. The thing on the side of all snare drums. _________________ I find it kinda funny, I find it kinda sad, the dreams in which im dying are the best i've ever had. |
