Hi guys i have a yamaha dtxpress kit,bought it a few weeks back,second hand,been working ok,but today i moved it from my spare room into my bedroom,and it has stopped working,the display on the module doesn't light up,or come on,as far as i remember i switched it off before unplugging it,and didn't bang it hard on anything,do u think that the module is broken,or could it be the power supply,i am now a bit cheesed cus i paid 590 for it,and i have only had it about 4 weeks,anyone got any suggestions??

I assume you’ve already gone to Radio Shack (or wherever) and gotten a like power cable to verify that the problem isn’t there.

Barring that, check to see if you’ve inadvertently dimmed the display. If it’s not dimmed, it's broken. You got it for REEEEEAly cheap, and I assume without warranty of any kind, so my suggestion is to look on the bright side and get creative.

If it's just the display that doesn't work (sounds are still functioning), you’ll need to get it repaired. I don’t recommend the repair route. It would be cheaper and reassuring to just invest in a new mod.

If nothing on the mod works, find another module (borrow a friends or MAKE friends with someone who has one or bring it to the store) and make sure your pads/cables are still okay. Then you've still got the pads and pedals. Save up for a NEW module - get one with a warranty this time.

Thanx for the reply,i just tried it again and it worked,the cable coming from the power supply is faulty so i will buy a new power supply,thanx for the reply.
