Just giving everyone that uses any kind of rods a heads up.

THEY ARE DANGEROUS, BE CAREFUL. I was jamming with my cool rods and all of a sudden I felt something hit the side of my face, felt almost like an ant bite, turned out a rod broke off and hit my face. Had it of hit my eye Im sure it could have done some serious damage being that one end was all splintery.

So next you use some rods be careful, when a rod breaks off it flies fast and hurts.

You mean like a welding mask? Yeah that should offer a considerable ammount of protection Laughing .

I was thinking something like this would work well Laughing http://oakley.com/catalog/colors/eyewear/omatter/overthetop/fmj_5.56_ice_iridium/

On a side note, I once had a pair of brushes which had a warning lable on the side, reading: "KEEP AWAY FROM EYES."

Talk about a lesson.I once hit my eye with the stick's head (a 7a Vic Firth-I'll allways remember it) while trying to fill on the snare. It hurt badly for about 10 minutes and for 2 or 3 days or something I couldn't see all that well from that eye.Horrible.But it passed and now it's brand new Razz. That's a lesson never to be forgotten. However, accidents allways happen, that's why i need a mask Razz Razz

I got my finger like...impaled almost. I got pissed because a drumstick broke (zildjian dips) and I threw the rod down, and it stabbed my middle finger!

*What the Heck* is up with that!

Gee, Sounds like drumming has a dangerous side. Maybe I should take up a different instrument, a penny whistle might be nice --- Yeah right Cool

You should try a triangle Smile
One with a warning label 'do not eat' on it and with front and side airbags.
Very Happy

I gave my guitarist a scar on his knuckle by accidentaly whipping a stick across the room at him.

that and I keep hitting myself in the eyes going between the floor tom and snare.
