Hi!
I'm thinking of buying the following items:
- Juli@ Soundcard
- Audix Fusion Mic 6 pack mic set
- Mixer (8 mic inputs, 16 channel, 12 jacks - Behringer)

The thing is that some told me that I can't use my computer as a mixer if I already have a mixer. And some told me that you just can attach the mixer to the computer and then mix the things you want (with a software that is Wink)
Is this true? Is it posible for me to mix my recordings at the computer after I have recorded a session/song/whatever drums related?
That's what I want. I want my computer as a mixer, but I also want a drum mixer, and some people say that it's stupid to buy a mixer instead of a soundcard with 8 mic inputs in it. I don't want that, because it's too expensive and I want a mixer I can use for different stuff, and not invest THAT much in computer stuff... So, is it posible? Or do I have to mix everything with the mixer before I record and I won't be able to do anything afterwards???

Please help me out!

Zorlee, the studio Newb! Embarassed

what you explained there, im pretty sure cannot be done. if you wanna mix on your computer, then there are software mixers out there that can do it without a standalone hardware mixer, and are often included in home recording software. the only thing is that they use up a lot of processing power, so they can really slow everything down if you dont have a beefy computer. a hardware mixer only applies its affect to the signals it receives through its inputs, so unless you feed your track back through the mixer, then youre not gonna be able to alter what you already have. youre probably either gonna use a hardware mixer, or a software version, not both simultaneously.
