Hello, I am a fresh edrum player from HK. Nice to meet u all.
I have a Yamaha DTX v2.0 eDrum and I want to buy a amplifier for my edrum. May I ask for your opinion? Thanks
1) Which kind of AMP is suitable for eDrum? (Keyboard amp?)
2) Which brand is good for eDrum? Roland? Laney? Fender? Kustom? ($$$ will be my concern, I only want fair quality)
3) I want to use it in my room. Does 30-40 Watt enought? (does the bass drum's sound need a larger watt to represent)
Really thanks for any of your kindly comment? Thanks! |

Almost any amp will work for home use & practice, but due to the spectrum of sounds from a kit, something a little more diverse than a peavey bass amp is needed. This is especially for performances.
This is the Roland TDA700 V-Drum Amp.
It’s specifically designed for e-drum use. I’ve used one for years and nothing sounds better. Only two problems with it 1) Price (around $850) and 2) size (it is one big and heavy piece of equipment). _________________ Great site

| For the money and just for practicing, you were smart to go with a keyboard amp. Djembedog is right about the Roland amp; it does sound good but is expensive and cumbersome. I personally a small PA but that is expensive and even more cumbersome. The best way to go for high quality sound and portability is a high end powered monitor like an EV or an EAW, but it will be expensive. You get what you pay for. |
