I'm new ok ppl, I'm just unfamiliar with what stick sizes(5A,7A etc.) and tip type goes with right kind of music (rock, jazz etc.) Help the new guy... by the way how do you do those lil smiley things lol.

you use whatever is most comfortable to you. There are no set sizes on what you must use for a certain type of music

you should use whatever you feel most comfortable with.
There are no set sizes on what you should use for a certain
style of music. Just head down to your local music shop and
check out all the various sticks. As far as tip, wood or nylon
tip it all depends on your ears. I myself don't like a nylon tip
stick because of the sound I get out of my ride cymbal, I feel
you get a warmer sound with a wood tip. That's just me, you
may enjoy the nylon tip, it's all up to you.

Have fun! Cool

well, longer thicker sticks will give you more possible volume at the expense of control. small sticks wont be as powerful but are easier to handle. there are so many different combinations of stick size and tip shape available that its impossible to pick which ones work for what music. just pick whatever you like the best... i personally played hard rock kind of stuff for about a year with SD4s, which are pretty much pencils compared to some sticks.

Whatever you're comfortable with. Jan Axel von Blomburg (Mayhem, Arcturus) plays with thin, light sticks, and Alan Dawson, a jazz drummer, played with 3B's.
