Hey I have been playing for about 8 years now but am relitivly new to Electronic Kits/Drum Triggers. I was wondering for advice or actual tutorials/FAQs on the use of drum triggers for recording (just beginning level recording, on the computer and whatnot). Any advice or leading me in the direction of some would be greatly appriciated!

a really awsome program that can act like a trigger but is much cheaper than buying the actual devices and modules is called drumagog. A trial can be downloaded here: http://www.drumagog.com It's a Direct-X plugin that works with any Direct-X supporting audio application (eg, sound forge, cool edit, etc)

Basically what it does is takes an already recorded drum track (say a recorded drum that sounds horrible) and dynamically triggers a perfect studio recording of any drum you want (bass, snare, tom etc) overtop of your bad recording. And you can adjust the sensitivity as to what peak you want it triggered to and everything.

So it is sort of acting as a trigger, but much cheaper and with more features. Its very useful for eliminating those poor sounding tracks or getting that perfect sounding bass drum hit.
