Can you help me choosing between the Sonor 1003, 2003 and 3003? I´ve no experience at all but I would like to buy something that can last and gives a good sound.
What I'd like to know is what differences they have and how does that affects the sound that they produce.
If you think there's other options please tell me.
Thanks in advance!

Sorry, I don't know much about Sonor drums, they don't get very good distribution here in Aus at the moment. I think those three lines cover a pretty wide price range though - so what can you afford would be my number one question. Point 2 would be to get a kit made out of maple or birch where possible, as they are the best sounding woods. All Tama, Mapex, DW/Pacific, Pearl and Gretch kits in the same price range would be worth taking a look at too. Play as many as you can and see what YOU like best.

I've notice that you don't coment much about sonor but is the brand with better distribution here in Portugal.
Tama's distributor is not working well and it's very difficult to see drums in the stores...
Thanks anyway

I'm no Sonor expert, but here's what I can tell you:
Force 1003 - Basswood shells, wrap finishes, steel snare, no suspension mounts, cheaper hardware, etc. Similar to Tama Swingstar, Pearl Forum, Yamaha YD, etc.
Force 2003 - Basswood/maple shells, lacquer finishes, wood snare, TAR (suspension) mounts, slightly better hardware, etc. Similar to Tama Rockstar, Pearl Export, Yamaha Stage Custom, etc.
Force 3003 - Maple/basswood shells, wrap and lacquer finishes, wood snare, TAR mounts, better hardware, etc. Similar to Rockstar Custom, Export Select, Stage Custom Advantage, etc.
Sonor makes good stuff, but they do tend to be priced a little higher than their competitors. And from what I hear, their lower-mid level kits aren't quite up to par (compared to Tama, Pearl, Yamaha, etc.), but their high end kits are amazing.
Hope that helps

Brofe I bought my 10pc 1985 Tama Imperialstar set (I do like to brag about it), I had a Sonor Force 2001, it was a nice set, well built, and I think the cymbal stands that came with it were some of the best I have ever seen, and I have a lot of Tama's Titan stands now. The only thing I did not like was the mounting system.

if you can afford any of the force sets, then i would just go with 3003.

I used to have a sonor force 1001 (the 1003 has only got a couple of updates, nothing that improving)
I think it's a very good set for the price. First thing you do is however, get rid of the crappy heads that come with it, I replaced mine with Remo Ambassadors coated. Especially the floor tom is very good. Even the stel snare was able to statisfy me, with his pretty loud 'crack'.
If money is more important to you, or if you're looking for a second, good quality kit, then the Force 1003 is the way to go. I wish I could have kept mine as a practice kit, but I didn't have the room to place it.

I have the sonor force 3001, in the honey maple laq.... I would recommend it, has a very meaty sound, only problem I have with it is that I decided on the Rock kit size as aposed to the fusion, so obviously its all a fair bit bigger, plus i really need to get myself some new heads
